Damascus, Oct 12, SPA -- Syria's interior minister, who isbelieved to have been questioned by U.N. investigators onthe assassination of a former Lebanese leader, committedsuicide on Wednesday, Syria's official news agency said. His death came days before the United Nations is expectedto release its report into the assassination of formerLebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. "Interior Minister Brig. Gen. Ghazi Kenaan committedsuicide in his office before noon," the Syrian Arab NewsAgency reported. "Authorities are carrying out thenecessary investigation into the incident." The news agency did not mention the U.N. investigation,which is due to issue its report by Oct. 25, the Associated Press reported.
