Sharon rejects joint meetings with Palestinians if Hamas runs in elections

Al-Quds city, Nov 6, SPA -- Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Mondaythat if Hamas participate in Palestinian legislative elections, then Israel would not hold joint meetings with Palestinians, and would make it difficult forHamas to campaign freely. Sharon made the comments before the Israeli parliament'sDefense and Foreign Affairs Committee, his spokesman, AsafShariv, said. In the past, the two sides have met to negotiatePalestinian prisoner releases, the handover of West Banktowns to Palestinian control, and a variety of otherissues.
