Iran says it does not foresee nuclear negotiations with the U.S.

Tehran, Feb 6, SPA -- Iran said Monday there is no room fornegotiation with the United States over its nuclear programafter it was reported by the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog to theU.N. Security Council. "Our policy is the same toward the United States that ithas so far been. There is no debate about relations andnegotiation with the U.S. There has been no change in ourpolicy," said Gholamhossein Elham, spokesman of Iran'sgovernment, when he was asked if the country was ready tonegotiate with Washington. Elham said the West made "a big mistake" by making thereferral, because he contended the action indicated theWest's opposition to Iran's development. Iran said Sunday that it had ended all voluntarycooperation with the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency, sayingit would start uranium enrichment and bar surpriseinspections of its facilities.
