Kandahar, Oct 17, SPA -- Suspected Taliban gunmenkilled two pro-government Muslim clerics and a policeintelligence chief with another officer in three separateattacks across Afghanistan, officials said Monday. Both clerics actively supported President Hamid Karzai'sU.S.-backed government and were the latest Muslim leaderstargeted by the insurgents. Another was killed in easternKhost province on Friday. A police officer was also killed and another two werewounded when gunmen opened fire at local intelligence chiefMohammed Davood Khan as he walked through a market insouthern Helmand province Monday, local governmentspokesman Mohammed Wali said.
