Jeddah, Jan 28, SPA -- Secretary General of the Jeddah-based Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Professor Ekmel-Eddin Ihsanoglu has congratulated the Palestinian people and leadership on the occasion of the success of the legislative elections. In a statement issued here today, Ughlo urged the Palestinian factions and people to complete the process of the transference of power with the same political maturity and through peaceful means. He called Hamas movement to deal in a realistic manner with the international policy so as to preserve the rights and achievements of the Palestinian people. Ihsanoglu called on the international community to respect the outcome of elections which embodies the democratic option for the Palestinian people, and to continue to support the peace process so as to work for enabling the Palestinian people to liberate their homeland from the yoke of occupation and establish its independent state with al-Quds as its capital in line with resolutions of the international legitimacy.--SPA 14 05 Local Time 11 05 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/321792
