Kabul, March 12, SPA -- A car carrying explosives blewup Sunday near the convoy of a senior politician in theAfghan capital, killing two suspected suicide attackers anda bystander and injuring four other people, police said. Sibghatullah Mujaddedi, the head of a commission leadingefforts for reconciliation between the Afghan governmentand Taliban militants, was driving to work when theexplosion occurred on a Kabul street. Mujaddedi and others in his convoy were not hurt, policeofficial Zalmay Huryakhil said. Two vehicles in Mujaddedi's convoy were damaged in theblast, an Associated Press reporter saw. Thefour-wheel-drive vehicle with tinted windows usually usedby Mujaddedi had shattered windows and one side was riddledwith shrapnel. An aide said Mujaddedi reached his office safely and wasnot hurt. "It was a very dangerous conspiracy against Mujaddedi.Mujaddedi is fine. He is in his office," said Syed SharifYousafi, who is head of Mujaddedi's office.
