India and France sign accord on nuclear cooperation

New Delhi, Feb 20, SPA -- India and France signed an agreementMonday on future civilian nuclear cooperation, Indian PrimeMinister Manmohan Singh said. Details were not immediately available, but Singh toldreporters the nuclear agreement was inked along withunderstandings in defense, tourism and other areas, the Associated Press reported. "We appreciate France's support for the ongoing effort toenable full civilian nuclear energy cooperation betweenIndia and the international community," Singh said at ajoint news conference with French President Jacques Chirac.
