Bush, Polish President Discuss Iraq, NATO, European Issues

Washington, Feb 10, SPA -- President George W. Bush met with President Lech Kaczynski of Poland for talks that focused on Iraq, NATO, and eastern European issues. Poland is one of the strongest US allies in Europe, and Bush said he thanked the president and the Polish people "for their support of democracy in Iraq." Poland currently leads a 2,500-strong international troop contingent in Iraq. More than half the soldiers are Polish, but their number is to be reduced by 900 this month.
