Riyadh, Aug 29, SPA-- The Shoura (consultative) Council will participate in the 2nd international conference of speakers of parliaments due to be held in New York on September 7-9, 2005. The Shoura's delegation will be led by Dr Salih bin Saud Al-Ali, the Assistant Chairman of the Shoura. Participants of the international parliamentary conference are scheduled to review a number of topics including the parliamentary dimensions of democracy. It is worth mentioning that that the Shoura has officially joined the international parliament. The conference will shed light on the role of the parliaments as regards enhancing international cooperation for realizing security and peace as well as preservation of democracy, human rights and development.
