Lahore, July 20, SPA -- Police have detained a man withdirect links to the London bombings amid a crackdown thathas led to the arrests of dozens of suspected militants, anintelligence official said Wednesday. "We have an important man in our custody," the seniorintelligence official told The Associated Press oncondition of anonymity. "I am not in a position todisclose his name right now, but the maximum that I cantell you is that he has some direct links with the Londonattacks." Speaking in the eastern city of Lahore, the officialdeclined to say when the man was arrested, or elaborate onhis alleged links with the London bombings. "We have apprehended several suspects, more arrests arein the offing," Lahore police chief Tariq Salim said.
