Islamabad, Dec 18, SPA -- The first batch of Pakistan Army contingent has left for Liberia to participate in the United Nations Mission, says an official statement. The Commandant, Central Ordnance Depot, Brig. Arshad Najeeb Alvi, bade farewell to the departing troops at Quaid-e-Azam International Airport inKarachi. The group of 300 troops comprising Infantry, Engineers and Medical Corps will form the Pakistani contingent in the mission area. The statement said Pakistan is one of the largest troops contributing country in the United Nations Peace Missions and earned a high degree of respect as proficient and dedicated blue helmets working for the cause of global peace.--SPA1108 Local Time 0808 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/312893
