Al-Quds city, April 8, SPA -- Israeli President Moshe Katsav met Friday with three Muslim leaders at the funeral of the Pope,including the leaders of Syria and Iran, Israeli media reported. Katsav twice shook hands with Syrian President BasharAssad, the media reports said, the second time initiated byAssad. Also, the Iranian-born Israeli president briefly spokewith Iranian President Mohammed Khatami in Farsi. Accordingto Israel Radio, the two conversed about the town whereboth men were born.
