Moscow, March 10, SPA -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Thursday spoke with his Sudanese counterpart, Mustafa OmanIsmail, about a new U.N resolution aimed at support a peaceaccord ending a 21-year civil war in the southern part ofthe African country, the Foreign Ministry said. "They focused on drafting a new U.N Security Councilresolution on Sudan," and also discussed ways to promotepeace in Sudan's western Darfur region, the ministrysaid in a statement. The two officials spoke by telephone.
