Srinagar, July 13, SPA -- Indian Soldiers on Wednesday killed twosuspected rebels in a gun battle after they crossed the cease-fire line dividing the Indian and Pakistani portions of Kashmir, a militaryspokesman said. The army stopped the pair in the Tangdhar sector near theso-called Line of Control that separates Kashmir betweenIndia and Pakistan, the spokesman, Lt. Col. V.K. Batra,said. Another suspected rebel was killed in a separate gun battlein the same area, he said. The army also fought an overnight gun battle with anothergroup of rebels who allegedly entered the Indian portion ofKashmir from a remote, snowbound mountain pass in theKabuli Gali sector, Batra said.
