Cyprus Ankara, June 6, SPA -- A top U.N. envoy met with Turkey's foreign minister Monday to discuss the ongoing dispute overthe divided island of Cyprus. Kieran Prendergast, the U.N. undersecretary for politicalaffairs, said he came to Turkey to "take the pulse," theAnatolia news agency reported. He met Monday with Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, whoalong with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will begoing to New York later this week to meet with U.N.Secretary General Kofi Annan to discuss Cyprus.
