Baghdad, July 6, SPA -- Gunmen killed four policemen andwounded at least nine more in separate attacks Wednesday. The latest attacks occurred one day after two more diplomats from Muslim countries were ambushed in suspectedkidnap attempts in Baghdad following the weekend abductionof Egypt's top envoy in the country. Bahrain's chief diplomat here was slightly wounded but thePakistani ambassador escaped injury. Both their governmentssaid the envoys would leave the country. In Baghdad, gunmen killed Capt. Hazim Jabbar, a member ofthe police special commando brigade, in the west of thecity, police said. Jabbar had worked as a bodyguard for aconsultant to former interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi,police said. Two other police commandoes were killed in separateincidents in another west Baghdad neighborhood, policesaid.
