London, April 29, SPA -- Iranian and European negotiators werescheduled to meet in London Friday for more talks onTehran's nuclear program. France, Britain and Germany, acting on behalf of theEuropean Union, are seeking guarantees that Iran won't useits nuclear program to make weapons, as Washingtonsuspects. Tehran insists the program _ kept secret for twodecades _ is only for peaceful energy purposes. Britain's Foreign Office said Friday that Europe was stillseeking guarantees that Iran's nuclear program would notresult in a nuclear weapon. Iran insists that the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treatyallows it to pursue a peaceful nuclear program, includingenriching uranium. Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said Thursday thatif the London talks were not successful, "negotiationswill collapse and we will have no choice but to restart theuranium enrichment program."
