Bush has chosen hissecond nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court and will announcehis pick Monday at the White House, just hours before thecourt begins a new term with newly sworn-in Chief JusticeJohn Roberts at the helm. Bush planned to announce his choice to replace retiringJustice Sandra Day O'Connor at 8 a.m. EDT (1200GMT) in theOval Office, a senior administration official said. Soon after, the president was to attend a ceremony at the courtat which Roberts, who was confirmed by the Senate 78-22,will formally assume his leadership post with the openingof its 2005-2006 term.
