Kabul, July 17, SPA -- More than 20 suspected Talibaninsurgents _ including five foreigners _ were killed inrecent clashes with Afghan and U.S.-led coalition forces inAfghanistan, a defense ministry spokesman said Sunday. The militants had attacked Afghan National Army units attwo locations in southeastern Khost province on Thursdayand Friday, Defense Ministry spokesman Gen. Mohammed ZaherAzimi said. The attacks prompted a counteroffensive by Afghan troopsbacked by coalition air strikes that left more than 20Taliban insurgents dead, he told a news conference. The victims, whose bodies were collected by Afghansoldiers, included three men from Chechnya and two fromUzbekistan. Their nationalities were revealed on documentsfound with the bodies, Azimi was quoted as saying by The Associated Press.
