Moscow, April 21, SPA -- Russia is determined to maintain the positive dynamics in its ties with the European Union, President Vladimir Putin told visiting E.U. Commission Jose Manuel Barroso on Thursday. "Relations between Russia and the European Union have gained a very positive momentum and we intend to preserve it," the president said at talks preparing the Russia-EU summit that will take place in the capital on May 10. The sides are due to cement relations in four key areas at the Moscow summit. The areas that will provide the framework of relations until the E.U. Constitution comes into force in 2007 are in the domains of freedom, security, justice and the economy, including energy.
