Hebron, West Bank, April 6, SPA -- Jewish settlers pelted Israelisoldiers and police with rocks and eggs Wednesday, as thetroops put up a wall to protect a Palestinian home fromsettler attack. Two women settlers were detained and a third was slightlyinjured in a scuffle with soldiers, said police spokesmanShlomi Sagi. The security forces were building a 25 meter-long (yards),4.5-meter-high barrier around the Palestinian house whichoverlooks the Jewish enclave of Avraham Avinu in downtownHebron. The house was emptied on Israeli army ordersshortly after the outbreak of Israeli-Palestinian violencein September 2000. The settlers also stoned several Palestinians, witnessessaid. In one incident, a Palestinian who had been stoned,began scuffling with soldiers and police.
