Baghdad, Sept 26, SPA -- A rocket hit a busy Baghdadneighborhood on Sunday, killing at least one person andwounding eight, hospital officials and witnesses said. The rocket hit a side street in Baghdad's Karradaneighborhood, witnesses said. Ambulances raced to the scene and U.S. troops cordoned offthe area. The body of one victim lay in the street, coveredby a sheet, an Associated Press reporter said. The rocket also destroyed a car and shattered the windowsof 10 shops. The explosion was one of a series of blasts that rockedthe capital. Small puffs of white smoke could be seenrising above the former presidential palace in the GreenZone, the headquarters of the U.S. Embassy and the interimIraqi government.
