Taipei, Jan 25, SPA -- Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian on Tuesday named Kaohsiung Mayor Frank Hsieh as the new premier in a cabinet reshuffle, a customary move following a parliament election. "I hope the new cabinet can promote dialogue between the ruling and opposition parties and promote stability in our society," Chen told a news conference. Hsieh, 58 , said he will push for Taiwan's stability and peace with China under the win-win principle. Hsieh, a former lawyer and former chairman of the pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), has been the mayor of Taiwan's second-largest city Kaohsiung since 1998. He replaces Yu Shyi-kun, who has been premier for three years. --SPA 1118 Local Time 0818 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/234721
