BAGHDAD, Iraq, Feb 28, SPA -- A suicide car bomber blew himself upMonday in a crowd of police and Iraqi national guardrecruits south of Baghdad, killing at least 106 andwounding 133, police and witnesses said. Babil province police said in a statement distributed toreporters that 106 people were killed and 133 others werewounded in the blast in Hilla, about 95 kilometers (60miles) south of Baghdad. That would make it one of thedeadliest single attacks since President George W. Bushdeclared the war over in May 2003. "A suicide car bomb hit a gathering of people who were applying for work in the security services. The incidentled to the death of 106 people and injury of 133citizens," the statement, distributed to reporters by theBabil province police headquarters said.
