Islamabad, Feb 3, SPA -- Senior officials from Islamabadand Washington were holding talks Thursday on weapon salesto modernize Pakistan's military, including a request forU.S.-made F-16 fighter jets, officials said. The U.S. delegation was led by Undersecretary of DefenseDouglas Feith in Rawalpindi, a city near the capitalIslamabad, a Pakistani Defense Ministry official said oncondition of anonymity. Defense Secretary Hamid Nawaz Khan led the Pakistan sideat the meeting of the Pakistan-U.S. Defense ConsultativeGroup _ a forum set up in 1984 to promote militarycooperation between the two countries. Pakistan would raise its request for the fighter-aircraftat Thursday's meeting, Foreign Ministry spokesman MasoodKhan said Monday.
