Kabul, Afghanistan, Jan 5, SPA -- Afghans donated blood Wednesdayfor the victims of last week's devastating tsunami, and thegovernment asked the U.S. military to help it sendwar-hardened doctors to the disaster zone. About a dozen medics and a planeload of medicine andequipment would leave for India and Sri Lanka as soon aspossible, the Defense Ministry said. "We have our own problems, but we are part of the familyof nations," said ministry spokesman Gen. Zaher MohammedAzimi. "The people of Afghanistan are saddened by thisdisaster."
