Baghdad, Dec 22, SPA -- A 122 mm rocket slammed into a messtent at a military base near the northern city of Mosul,ripping through the ceiling and spraying shrapnel as U.S.soldiers sat down to lunch. Officials said 22 people werekilled in the deadliest single attack against Americans inIraq since the start of the war. The dead from Tuesday's attack included 20 Americans _ 15service members and five civilian contractors _ and twoIraqi soldiers. Sixty-six people were wounded, including 42U.S. troops, Capt.
