Baghdad, Dec 21, SPA -- Unknown gunmen shot dead on Tuesdayan Iraqi nuclear scientist north of Baghdad, witnessessaid. Taleb Ibrahim al-Daher was on his way to work at DiyalaUniversity when armed men opened fire on his car as it wascrossing a bridge in Baqouba, 57 kilometers (35 miles)northeast of Baghdad. The vehicle swerved off the bridge and fell into theKhrisan river, witnesses said.
