Kabul, May 26, SPA -- A bomb exploded Thursday on aroad in eastern Afghanistan as a Dutch army vehicle wasdriving along it, slightly wounding two soldiers, Afghanpolice said. A spokeswoman for the International Security AssistanceForce, Lt. Col. Karen Tissot Van Patot, confirmed there hadbeen an "incident" in Baghlan province. She said twosoldiers had been injured and were in a stable condition.She gave no other details, including the nationality of thetroops involved. Fazil Uddin Ayar, chief of police for Baghlan province,said a remote-controlled bomb exploded as the Dutch vehicledrove by. He said the two soldiers were lightly wounded.About five suspects had been arrested, he said. A purported Taliban spokesman, Mullah Latif Hakimi,claimed responsibility for the attack in a telephone callto The Associated Press.
