Beijing, March 12, SPA -- China's Cabinet on Saturday approved TungChee-hwa's resignation as Hong Kong chief executive, thegovernment announced. The resignation was approved at a meeting led by PremierWen Jiabao, the official Xinhua News Agency said. Tung, 67,said Thursday he had asked to leave his post with two yearsleft in his term due to ill health.
