London, March 1, SPA -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Ricesaid Tuesday that the U.S. general designated to monitorIsrael-Palestinian peace efforts will soon relocate to theregion. The monitor, Army Lt. Gen. William Ward, accompanied Riceto a global conference in London on Palestinian securityand political reform. Ward, who has been based in Europe, has made one trip toIsrael and the Palestinian territories since Rice announcedhis appointment last month. Rice announced his plan torelocate at the start of the British-led conference. "The Palestinian Authority needs to reform its securityinstitutions in order to fight terrorism and lawlessnesseffectively," Rice said.
