Peres: Israel has agreed in principle to evacuate military patrol road on Gaza-Egypt

AL-Quds city, Feb 18, SPA -- Vice Premier Shimon Peres told IsraelRadio on Friday that Israel has agreed in principle toevacuate a military patrol road on the Gaza-Egypt borderthat was one of the deadliest spots during the four-yearPalestinian uprising. Peres spoke in response to Gaza strongman MohammedDahlan's warning that violence on the so-called Philadelphicorridor could re-ignite. Asked if the handover of the road has been agreed to inprinciple, Peres replied, "Yes, but in principle takesless time than in practice. ... I think we are trying tofind a solution for it that would allow freedom of movementfor Palestinians in Gaza. Otherwise they will be closed infrom all sides."
