Baghdad, Dec 2, SPA -- The U.S. Embassy on Thursday bannedits employees from using the highway linking Baghdad to theinternational airport, regarded as one of the country'smost dangerous roads. "Until further notice, no mission personnel will bepermitted to use the main road from the international(Green) zone to the Baghdad International Airport forsecurity reasons," a warden's message said. The 10-mile (16-kilometer) stretch of road has been thescene of repeated road side bomb and suicide attacksgenerally targeting U.S. military personnel and civiliancontractors working on reconstruction projects in Iraq.
