Baghdad, May 14, SPA -- Iraq's transitional prime minister has extended the country's state of emergency for another 30 days, CNN reported today. It said Ibrahim al-Jaafari's decree essentially puts the country, except for the Kurdish north, under martial law and allows the prime minister to restrict freedom of movement and impose curfews. Iraq's Interior Ministry said Friday that four Palestinians have been arrested in connection with the deadly bombing in eastern Baghdad the day before. Twelve people were killed and 56 were wounded in the morning attack, Iraqi police said. The arrests came nine hours after the attack, according to the Interior Ministry. The government said the Badr Organization, was involved in the security operation. It was the first time the government has officially made such mention.--SPA1049 Local Time 0749 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/262137
