U.N. police officer killed in explosion in Kosovo

Pristina, Jan 13, SPA -- A U.N. police vehicleexploded Thursday, killing an international police officer,authorities said. The cause of the blast was unclear. The officer, who was not identified, was driving to workwhen the blast occurred at about 8:20 a.m (0720GMT) inPrizren, some 80 kilometers (50 miles) southwest ofprovince's capital, Pristina, said Ken Stica, a U.N. policespokesman. "I can confirm that an international police officer waskilled in an explosion while driving to work," he said. The officer's nationality was not immediately disclosed.
