Baghdad, Jan 1 (SPA) - A U.S. Marine was killed in action on Friday in the volatile province of al-Anbar west of Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Saturday. It gave no further details. Anbar province includes the cities of Falluja and Ramadi where attacks on U.S. forces have been frequent. Since the start of the war in March 2003, at least 1,043 U.S. military and Pentagon personnel have been killed in action in Iraq.
