Kabul, Oct 16, SPA -- At least three children and a policeman were killed by a remote-controlled bomb in Afghanistan's southeastern province of Kunar, police said Saturday. A truck was set ablaze, drawing a crowd, and then a remote- controlled bomb was detonated once people gathered in the area, said a statement. The attack occurred in Asmar district of Kunar province on Friday. President Hamid Karzai called it a terrorist attack and strongly condemned the act, the statement quoted him as saying. "The terrorists that perpetrated this attack showed once more their barbarous, inhuman and un-Islamic face by the killing of innocent civilians, especially children," he said. "Clearly, only the enemies of Islam could commit such an atrocity on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan." --SPA 1313 Local Time 1013 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/211319
