Mosul, Oct 29, SPA -- Insurgents opened fire Friday on aTurkish truck carrying bottled water in the northern cityof Mosul, killing the driver, while a car bomb hit a U.S.convoy, according to police and the U.S. military said. The truck driver was killed and his vehicle burst intoflames, according to eyewitnesses and Mosul police. It wasunclear whether the driver was Turkish. The attack on the U.S. patrol occurred about 1 p.m.(1000GMT) on the southside of the city, causing minorinjuries to two U.S. soldiers, said Capt. Angela Bowmanwith Task Force Olympia. Iraqi police told the U.S. military that the attack killedone Iraqi civilian and wounded two others. However, officials at al-Jumhouri hospital said only twoIraqis were injured in the attack.
