Warsaw, Poland, Oct 28, SPA -- Ukrainian soldiers exchanged firedwith insurgents who attacked a checkpoint in central Iraq,but no injuries or damage resulted, the Polish militarysaid Thursday. Ten mortar rounds exploded close to the checkpoint northof Suwariyah late Wednesday, Polish Lt. Col. Artur Domanskisaid by phone from Iraq. The Ukrainians returned fire, forcing the attackers towithdraw, Domanski added.
