Addis Ababa, Nov 25, SPA -- Ethiopia's Prime Minister Meles Zenawi presented a five-point plan to parliament to resolve the stalled peace process in the border conflict with neighbouring Eritrea, over which the two sides fought a bloody war lasting more than two years. Meles said his government "accepts in principle" the 2002 decision of the Boundary Commission, which awarded to Eritrea the town of Bade and environs, on the western sector of the border, the flashpoint of the bloody conflict that lasted from May 1998 to December 2000. The peace plan also calls for initiating immediate dialogue with Eritrea for implementing the Boundary Commission's decision "in a manner consistent with the promotion of sustainable peace and brotherly ties between the peoples of the two countries". The plan Meles presented to parliament had been approved Wednesday at an emergency session of the Council of Ministers, according to the official Ethiopian News Agency. --SPA 1251 Local Time 0951 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/219552
