Baghdad, Iraq, Sept 14, SPA -- Three American soldiers were killed and eight others wounded in separate attacks in Iraq in thepast 24 hours, the military said Tuesday. Two American soldiers were killed and three others woundedwhen they came under attack from an improvised explosivedevice and small arms fire in Baghdad on Monday at around4:30 p.m. (1230) GMT, the military said in a statementTuesday. It did not say where exactly the incident took place andprovided no details. The troops belonged to the Army's TaskForce Baghdad. On Tuesday, one Task Force Olympia soldier was killed andfive were injured when their patrol was attacked with smallarms fire in the northeastern city of Mosul, the militarysaid in a separate statement. The dead soldiers' names were withheld pending familynotification.
