Baqouba, Iraq, Sept 14, SPA -- Gunmen in two cars opened fireTuesday on a van carrying policemen home from work, killing11 officers and a civilian, police and hospital officialssaid. The incident occurred when the policemen were returning totheir station after they were told that a trip to a training camp has been postponed, said a police officer on condition of anonymity. Police commander in the area, Maj. Gen. Walid Khaledconfirmed 11 of his men were killed saying they all camefrom the town of Khanaqin near the border with Iran. "We are investigating the case and we have some leads tothe crime," he said. Eleven policemen were killed as well as the civiliandriver, said Qaisar Hamid of Baqouba General Hospital.
