KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Aug 15, SPA -- Suspected Taliban rebels launched an attack early Sunday on a security checkpost in a southern province, killing six Afghan soldiers beforefleeing into the night, police said. Police were investigating the raid that happened around 2a.m. in Maivand district, about 70 kilometers (40 miles)northwest of Kandahar city, said the Kandahar provincepolice chief, Khan Mohammed.
