New york, Aug. 16, SPA -- United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan expressed his “shock and outrage” late Sunday night by the massacre in the Gatumba refugee camp in Burundi that killed more than 160 civilians, mostly women and children and injured over 100 others. “The Secretary-General strongly condemns this massacre and stresses that it must be promptly investigated, so that those responsible are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” according to the statement released by his spokesman’s office. --SP 2049 Local Time 1749 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/192465
