CARACAS, Venezuela, Aug 16, SPA -- President Hugo Chavez was far ahead in a referendum that sought to oust him, the head ofthe elections commission said Monday. With 94 percent of the vote counted, 58 percent had votedto keep Chavez in office and 42 percent had voted to ousthim, said Francisco Carrasquero, president of the electioncommission.
