Washington, Jan 8, SPA -- The Palestinian Authority and the Israeli government must work together to ensure there is adequate security for Sunday's Palestinian presidential elections, the U.S. State Department said Friday. Adam Ereli, a department spokesman, said during a press briefing the U.S. has been working with both sides to ensure the free movement of candidates and voters. Ereli praised both sides for the steps they have taken to promote a secure voting environment. "We would certainly hope that what we've seen in this instance will lead to further steps toward cooperation and engagement," Ereli said.
