Damascus, Aug 28, SPA -- German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer met Syrian President Bashar Assad on Saturday on the second leg of a five-day Mideast tour. The two leaders discussed the Middle East peace process, the situation in Iraq and the association agreement between Syria and the European Union.
