Nearly 700 tigers living in world's largest mangrove forest

straddling India, Bangladesh Dhaka, Oct 10, SPA -- A comprehensive census of tigersliving in the world's largest mangrove forest, whichstraddles India and Bangladesh, has counted nearly 700 ofthe big cats, officials said. The results of the census suggested that the tigers arethriving and that poaching in the forest, called theSundarbans, was under control, Bangladeshi officials saidSaturday. Bangladesh has counted 419 adult tigers in its part of theforest, Environment and Forest Minister Tariqul Islam tolda news conference.
