Ramallah, West Bank, Nov 18, SPA -- The leading sponsors of the"road map" peace plan will send top officials to the WestBank next week in a renewed effort to revive theinternationally backed peace plan, Palestinian ForeignMinister Nabil Shaath said Thursday. Shaath said the talks would focus on Israel's plannedwithdrawal from the Gaza Strip and ways to ensure that thewithdrawal is part of the road map. Shaath said British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, RussianForeign Minister Sergey Lavrov are scheduled to come toRamallah next week, in the days after a visit next Mondayby U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. The foreignministers of Spain and Germany are also expected in thecoming weeks, Shaath said. The diplomats are all part of the "Quartet" of road mapsponsors _ the United States, the European Union, Russiaand the United Nations. "All of these important foreign ministers are coming tomeet the Palestinian leadership and to talk about an actionplan for the coming period," Shaath said.
