Turkish hostage freed by U.S. troops in Samarra

Baghdad, Oct 1, SPA -- U.S. troops freed a Turkish hostageduring their major push to wipe out insurgents in the cityof Samarra Friday, the U.S. military said. Soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division rescued Yahlin Kaya,a construction company employee, during their sweep of thecity 95 kilometers (60 miles) north of Baghdad. Division spokesman Maj. Neal E. O'Brien said Kaya wasevacuated to a medical facility just outside the embattledcity. His condition was not given.
